Bi Sulphite / Sodium Metabisulphite / Sodium Metabisulfite / Sodium
Meta Bi Sulfite We are positioned amidst the
dependable Industrial Sodium Metabisulphite Suppliers in India. The
Sodium Metabisulphite offered by us is widely demanded in the market
due to its unmatched quality in respective applications.
Additionally, the Sodium Metabisulphite is extensively demanded due
to the below mentioned applications. Specifications:SO2 Content : 60% TO 65%
 Purity: 92% TO 100%

 Application of Sodium Metabisulphite:
Sodium Meta Bi Sulphite is one of a group of preservatives
known as bisulphite. It is a food preservative, cosmetic and
industrial bleaching agent, and an ingredient in the developing
solution for film and photography. Evidence exists that it is also
an immune-system toxin. As part of the group of sulfites, sodium
metabisulphite can provoke reactions in people, particularly
asthmatics, ranging from gastrointestinal discomfort and hives to
			asthma attacks.
 Sodium Metabisulfite is a
white to slightly yellowish crystalline powder with sulfur dioxide
odor; readily soluble in water. Sodium metabisulfite containing more
than 65.0% SO2 w/w releases sulfur dioxide gas when mixed with
water. It forms a bisulfite adduct with aldehyde and with ketones to
a sulfonic acid. It is used to purify or isolate aldehydes and
			ketones.
Sodium metabisulfite's reductive and sulfonating properties provide
			versatile applications.

It is used as an oxygen scavenger to eliminate the dissolved oxygen
in waste water and in pipes.

Bisulfite is a reductive bleaching agent. It reduces carbonyl and
alcohol groups, which function as colorants of the substances.

It is used in bleaching mechanical paper pulp, cotton, wool and
kaolin clay. Additional applications include as a preservative
(antioxidant), a hair waving agent, and Ensiling agent.

Bisulfites are used in industries concerned with leather processing,
food and beverage processing, gas purification, water treatment to
remove excess chlorine, textiles and pulp processing, and many
			others.

It is used as a reducing agent in chemical manufacturing.

It is an alternative to sulfur dioxide which is used in
			sterilization of equipments.
Food UsesSodium Meta Bi Sulphite is used as a preservative in foods such as
baked goods, jams, wines, dried fruit and many sauces. Sulphite can
be added before or after cooking. Fruits and raw vegetables used to
be sprayed with sulphite, but this practice was banned by the U.S.
Food and Drug Administration in 1986. Sodium metabisulphite is also
used as an antibacterial agent in wine, although some manufacturers
have begun using potassium metabisulphite instead. Some winemakers
have claimed that sodium metabisulphite increases the sodium content
			of wine.

 Industrial Uses
Sodium Meta Bi Sulphite exists in both food-grade and non-food-grade
forms. The non-food-grade form is an industrial bleaching and
reducing agent; it is also used to remove excess chlorine from
drinking water and as a photographic developing and fixing bath
			agent.

 Medicinal Use
Sodium Meta Bi Sulphite is an antioxidant additive in injectable
medicines and is also used as a reducing agent in pharmaceuticals.
Some medical lotions may contain sodium metabisulphite; even in
topical preparations, however, sodium metabisulphite may induce
			allergic or sensitive reactions.
