In any RO system, membrane fouling caused by scaling, biofilm, suspended solids, and chemical deposits can significantly reduce permeate flow, salt rejection efficiency, and overall plant performance. Regular use of RO cleaning chemicals ensures effective removal of these contaminants and restores system efficiency.

It is recommended to initiate cleaning when key performance parameters change by 10–15% (after normalization), such as reduced flow rate, increased pressure drop, or decline in rejection efficiency. Delayed cleaning beyond 30% deterioration may lead to irreversible membrane damage and reduced recovery potential.

  • 4. Circulate cleaning solution within recommended operating conditions
  • 5. For enhanced cleaning, use circulation + soaking cycles (15–20 minutes each)
  • 6. Cleaning dosage depends on fouling severity and system condition
